About Perry

Employers about Perry TechPerry Technical Institute is a private, non-profit technical school in Yakima, Washington, offering 11 specialized training programs. Our mission is to provide industry with well-trained people who are motivated to work as team members to meet the needs of industry in our rapidly evolving technological world.

Serving industry for 70 years

Harriet I. Perry founded Perry Technical Institute in 1939 as a lasting memorial to her late husband, Yakima business pioneer John M. Perry. Over the years, the school has grown, adapting its programs to meet the changing needs of the workplace. Each of our training programs is guided by a Program Advisory Committee comprised of professionals who are working in the field. This partnership with industry helps us keep our curriculum current and enables us to produce the kind of graduates needed in industry.

Setting high standards

Perry produces graduates who have not only strong technical skills, but who have a strong work ethic and positive work habits. We understand that as an employer you want more than an employee who can do the job – you want one who shows up on time and ready to work. All of our students punch a time clock each day and are held accountable to high standards for attendance and punctuality. Those who do not meet these standards face disciplinary actions, including dismissal.
